Curriculum

Here, at Learning Beyond Boundaries Academy (LBBA), we offer a project-based learning curriculum with a mastery based grading system. 

Our curriculum is designed to provide students with a challenging and engaging learning experience that prepares them for success in the real world. Our project-based learning approach allows students to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world problems, providing them with opportunities to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and creativity skills.

With our mastery-based grading system, students are expected to demonstrate mastery of each learning objective before moving on to the next. This allows students to focus on their individual learning needs and progress at their own pace. Our teachers provide regular feedback and support to help students achieve mastery of each objective, and students have the opportunity to revise and improve their work based on this feedback. The teachers use a variety of teaching strategies and techniques to ensure that each student is able to learn and grow at their own pace. The academy's teachers have a deep understanding of the various special education needs and accommodations required by students with 504 and Individual Education Plans (IEPs). We are familiar with a range of disabilities, including learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and emotional and behavioral disorders. We adapt our teaching style and approach to meet the unique needs of each student.

Our interdisciplinary curriculum is organized around themes that connect to the real world, and each theme is explored through a series of projects. These projects are designed to be engaging and meaningful, with opportunities for students to connect with their local community and the wider world.
